WWE: 10 Iconic Alliances That Should Be Reinvented For 2014
Professional wrestling stables are as old and as familiar as turnbuckles and Irish Whips. Clearly, many wrestlers have learned early on that there are safety in numbers, and a well-balanced stable can improve each member's middle-to-upper card status. With Evolution recently reforming to take on Daniel Bryan and what remains of The Shield, it seems prudent to look back at some of the stables, tag-teams, and other alliances that we want to see brought back to the business. Some factions, while awesome at the time, have grown stale due to frequent reprisals (D-Generation X for example), while others like the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom stayed together well past the point of relevancy, and thus both have been excluded from this list. Of course, we're not advocating bringing any of these factions back in their present post middle-aged forms - though if a time machine could be built, that would be entirely welcome - so the answer is to take what made those classic alliances so essential, and channel it into new versions for 2014. If individual wrestlers can pay homage to gone and forgotten stars in their gimmicks, attitudes and moves, then so too can stables and tag-teams, and the WWE has the talent right now to achieve some eye-catching new iterations of iconic team-ups...
