WWE: 10 Ideas To Improve The Current Product

4. The Gimmick Shows / PPV'S

Wwe Hell In A Cell 2013 First things first, the gimmick Raws they happen every other week lately...... Stop it. Just stop it. Raw Country, Old School Raw, Raw New Years, all the others.... no. It's a one note joke that at best adds a cheap laugh, at worst total cheesiness. Segments are fine, like a Halloween party backstage at Halloween, divas dress Christmassy around Christmas, a Raw Roulette segment if they happen to be in Vegas, but basing the entire show around it just takes attention away from any feuds going on at the time in favour of drawing attention to the theme. Its gimmickry for the sake of itself, and it should stop immediately. We all good with that? RIGHT! *phew, got kind of worked up there* Now, the gimmick pay per views are an altogether more complicated thing. On one hand, some have been proven to be tried and tested draws, such as the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, Money In The Bank. On the other hand, others just seem forced, like Hell In A Cell, Extreme Rules and TLC. And some are just headscratchers.... Night of Champions, the one night where every championship is defended?? Maybe this is nostalgia again, but come a pay per view, I EXPECT every championship to be defended, damn it. Don't misunderstand the audience, we definitely WANT to see Hell In A Cell matches and TLC matches. But we want them to happen organically as opposed to being scheduled. It makes a Hell In A Cell feel less special when you KNOW you're getting at least one a year. I could go into a lot of depth with these, because there's a lot of room for creativity, but for now, here's a simple idea: since we only have the one unified WWE World Heavyweight Title now, it doesn't make a ton of sense for Money In The Bank to have its own pay per view for the sake of one match. So we move the MITB match back to its original home of Wrestlemania. Which leaves a gap in the pay per view schedule before Summerslam, where we insert one of WWE's original gimmick pay per views...
