The passing of Nelson Frazier on February 18th, four days after turning 43, was another lost soul in the annals of pro wrestling. Despite how common wrestling deaths are, they are always shocking, even for someone of Frazier's immense girth. In that sense, it's tragic that Frazier died after losing a good amount of his excess weight after living so large for most of his life. Frazier's WWE career was one of the more interesting ones, going from cutting-edge babyface to main event heel royalty to comedy gimmick and back and forth under three different names on and off from 1994 to 2008. Known as Mabel, Viscera and Big Daddy V, plus several more monikers in non-WWE promotions, Frazier was given immense opportunity in WWE at a young age (main-evented Summerslam at 24) and while he didn't make the most of it, he made a lasting impression.. In the early 90's, Frazier was a new type of big man, much like Yokuzuna who was sumo-sized but had a bit of movement and athleticism to him, much more-so than the larger-than-life characters of the 80's.
