WWE: 10 Questions You Most Want Answered (May 31)

It's the end of the month of May, which hasn't been a hot period for WWE. Raw ratings were really bad this week. It was Memorial Day in the United States and there is competition from playoff games in the NBA & NHL, but those sorts of things have been factors for decades now. This week's Raw had 3.60 million viewers for all three hours, which was the lowest viewership total of the entire year. Hour one had 3.54 million viewers followed by 3.86 million in hour two and 3.41 million in hour three. In other words, people liked something in hour two that peaked their interest, but they probably got annoyed because of how much WWE was promoting a contract signing as the main event of the show. When Raw is an exciting, must see show the casual fans tune in. When it's boring like it is now there's less of a reason to watch. Whether WWE panics because of this is something we don't know. They could blame Daniel Bryan for being hurt, but that's not fair. Still, they could go back to the old reliable John Cena for another title reign because they know he'll pull in decent numbers. It's not time for WWE to panic because ratings matter less in 2014 than they did in 1997 or 1998 when they were battling WCW. However, it's never a good sign when fans tune out and the numbers consistently stay down. Following Payback this Sunday the numbers should go back up. Hopefully June is better than May has been.
