WWE: 10 Superstars You Will Be Surprised Are 10 Year Company Veterans
One of the common assertions about WWE's problems right now is a lack of developed superstars. The frightening truth is that many of the so called "stars needing experience" are in fact 10 year company veterans. The other sad reality is that some genuinely talented guys who have been there ten years are still awaiting a legitimate main event opportunity to run with. This list is going to make for some pretty shocking reading! Time really seems to have flown by. One thing this list does reflect is how long it's taking talent to progress in the modern era of wrestling. Think back to when The Rock or Kurt Angle debuted in the 90's, a year or two later they were main eventing big pay per views. Many of the performers on this list of current ten year veterans have still never main evented a pay per view! Sure not everyone can be a Rock or Angle, but it's pretty extraordinary that so many wrestlers can become veterans on the back of such little work. The industry has changed massively of course. Vince McMahon since 2001 has held a monopoly on pro wrestling after he put WCW out of business. The result is that wrestling talent only really have one place to develop their craft, thus it can take years under the WWE umbrella before they are at a main event level. Sure, they could get experience working in TNA, Japan or the indies ... but in truth, WWE is a different beast altogether. Working in TNA if anything usually means more time in WWE developmental to retrain in the WWE style. It's a tough time to make as a pro wrestler in WWE ... but here is the surprising list of talent who have been picking up a Vince McMahon paypack for the last ten years now.
