WWE: 18 Embarrassing Wrestling Move Fails

4. Flame Bait

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In7fbgjFJPI In July of 1998, The Undertaker-Kane storyline was running at full throttle. Though the initial feud between the two men had cooled a bit, Steve Austin's suggestion that the two hateful half-brothers might be in cahoots spurred constant speculation of a conspiracy on TV. When the Deadman dressed up as his younger brother to win a match for number one contendership, fuel was thrown on the fire. It was all very exciting and just a bit confusing. Apparently, a WWE stagehand was confused as well. When The Undertaker made his famous entrance and stopped to pose by the turnbuckle, Kane's pyrotechnic effects were triggered €“ causing a blast of flame to shoot out inches from The Undertaker's face. 'Taker, to his credit, did not break character €“ he went in the ring and did his job. Odds are, he didn't break character when he came backstage to find the responsible party, either. Not all botches are caused by wrestlers in the ring, but the ones that aren't all seem to involve The Undertaker €“ he would be burned once again, more severely, at the 2010 Elimination Chamber when his own pyro was set off at the improper time. General incompetence? Or did Kane have more tricks than we'd ever imagined?

3. Russian For The Ropes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkd6yQWN6vk If nothing else, let this list show that botches can happen to anyone €“ some very talented wrestlers make mistakes because, like I said before, we all make mistakes. The only difference is that when you and I screw up at our jobs, we don't fall on our faces in front of thousands of people. Still, like at your job and mine, the more talented employees bungle things less and the less talented employees do it a bit more. Enter Vladimir Kozlov. Vladimir Kozlov was signed by WWE on Jerry Jarrett's recommendation after Jarrett left TNA. In retrospect, it may have been a covert sabotage mission. Kozlov was terrible from the get-go, and the huge push he got (which included a clean pinfall victory over The Undertaker and a Survivor Series WWE Championship match against Triple H) quickly disappeared. Before long, he was forming a comedy undercard tag team with WWE's resident comedy undercard act, Santino Marella. The loss of a main event slot (and the paychecks that came with it) wasn't enough to drive Kozlov into some level of competency. Instead, he would still botch basic ring maneuvers in hilarious manners, as seen above. If there's an opposite of the Akeem botch from earlier on the list, this is it.
