The following night on RAW, John Cena was allowed to pick his challenger for the WWE Title and much to the dismay of the McMahon family he picked Daniel Bryan, who was already over with the Universe. There hadn't been a similar sort of energy surrounding one guy since "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but before the company would recognize him, he had his 3:16 Moment. Daniel Bryan had his on the Monday Night RAW ahead of SummerSlam, when he stood in front of John Cena with a "The Beard is Here" t-shirt and proclaimed: "This shirt is a parody of you, because I think you are a parody of wrestling. And guess what? I don't want to be a parody I want to be WWE Champion for one reason and one reason and one reason only. And it's not for the fame, and not for the glory. It's so everybody knows, that when I step foot in the ring there is nobody better than Daniel Bryan."
