WWE: 30 Superstars To Create Greatest Royal Rumble of All Time
Now the dust has settled on the 2013 WWE Royal Rumble, our Christmas-like enthusiasm has evaporated for another 12 months. The Rumble always manages to produce excitement, unpredictability and anti-climaxes in spades with people complaining who should've won and who was a wasted spot. But what if you took every star making performance from Rumbles and put them together in the ultimate 30-man extravaganza? Well, this is what we're hoping to create here. For those unfamiliar with the concept and rules (I doubt there'll be many), the Royal Rumble is a specialist over-the-top-rope battle royal that WWE introduced back in 1988 before turning it into a full-blown PPV for 1989. Two superstars open the Royal Rumble with a new entrant every 90 seconds or 2 minutes; it varies per year. This formula continues until every man, or woman, has entered. There is nearly always 30 people competing, but the inaugural event featured just 20 and in 2011 there was an unprecedented 40. Elimination occurs when someone is thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor (the latter rule introduced in 1995) until there is just one man left standing - the winner. Last Sunday marked the Silver anniversary of the Royal Rumble, regardless of what WWE's miscalculated propaganda tried to tell you in 2012. Without hoping to sound like the "by the numbers" video package that WWE love to air before each Rumble, there have been 22 different winners across 26 Rumbles with 4 multiple-time winners. To create the greatest Rumble of all time, you need the greatest Rumble performers of all time and the following superstars are the selected 30.
