WWE "In Talks" Over CM Punk Return
CM Punk reportedly wants another crack at WWE. Latest on company interest!
CM Punk is currently "in talks" with WWE about a possible surprise return at Survivor Series in November, according to Wrestling Observer chief Dave Meltzer.
Meltzer wrote in the latest edition of his newsletter that there's definite interest on Punk's side. Meanwhile, WWE sources haven't explicitly stated whether or not there's anything on the table, but nobody has ruled it out either.
NXT figurehead Shawn Michaels previously said he'd be thrilled if Punk showed back up in WWE, especially if he was open to making some appearances on the third brand. That's unlikely, because Punk would surely return on a major show like Raw or SmackDown instead, but nothing is impossible.
The Observer said that Survivor Series on 25 November, which just so happens to be in Punk's hometown Chicago, "would be the time to do the surprise return".
Things have been pretty quiet on the CM Punk front since he departed AEW in early-September following a controversial spell with Tony Khan's company. Critics doubted whether or not Punk had a future at a top level in wrestling after that drama, but he's reportedly interested in trying on WWE again.
