Time for a little fantasy booking action! My name is Cory Schibler and I'll be your host for this ride through fantasy land. The Shield has come into the WWE with a bang, and they sure are fun to watch. I've been a big fan of everything I've seen of Seth Rollins aka Tyler Black, although admittedly I haven't seen a ton of his stuff. I've seen even less of Dean Ambrose, but he is coming into his own, and every time I see him I like him even more. Reigns has the wrestling bloodline and size behind him, and as the muscle I'm enjoying him in his role. However, could the Shield benefit from a 4th member? There are those who say the group is fine the way it is, and it seems like the WWE has decided to keep them as a 3 man group for now, but that really shortens up my column for today, so let's say that WWE is going to add a 4th member, and they have left the decision up to yours truly. With that in mind, I would like to jump into the fantasy booker chair and offer up 5 wrestlers who could be the potential leader of the group known as the Hounds of Justice.
5. Daniel Bryan
Over the past couple of weeks Bryan has been getting a push, and for that I could not be more excited. Over the past several months he has been one of the most entertaining people in all of wrestling, especially considering his absolutely hysterical turn as color commentator for Saturday Morning Slam ("I'm a firm believer you shouldn't do a move in the ring unless you've done it against a bear"). That being said, there have also been the beginnings of what appears to be a heel turn for the Dazzler. I'll go on record as saying that I believe that he is the wrong person to turn heel right now, but put that aside and think about how great that heel turn could play into him leading the Shield. Bryan's gimmick over the past few weeks has been about him being the weak link. The Shield is all about justice, and Bryan is a guy who has been begging for people to give him the respect that he deserves, which in the end is all about justice. It's a match made in wrestling heaven. A man in search of proper respect leading a group of people who demand respect. Since Bryan is a guy who has been a journeyman wrestler and has quite a bit of experience, I don't think it's a stretch to believe that the Shield would take him in as a leader. They can even draw on Bryan's past mean streaks such as during the original Nexus kick off where he strangled Justin Roberts. Bryan would fit right in with the Hounds of Justice. http://youtu.be/kLrUmWwvrYc
