5. WWE Is Doing A Poor Job Of Finding Feuds For Him
After The Shield broke up last year, Ambrose had a lengthy feud with Seth Rollins and then Bray Wyatt to end the year. In early 2015, he got into a feud with Bad News Barrett over the Intercontinental Title that really wasn't great. It led into a WrestleMania multi-man match that Ambrose didn't win. Post WrestleMania, Ambrose got into a feud with Luke Harper that he won. Even though Harper's a very good performer, he's not seen as a top guy or even a top heel, but it was fine for a short feud because they had entertaining matches. Ambrose went back to feuding with Rollins, this time over the WWE Title. He thought he won the gold during their match at Elimination Chamber, but it ended up being a disqualification finish. Their matches were good, especially the ladder match at the Money in the Bank PPV. Even though it was entertaining, this was his second feud with Rollins in less than a year. The repeated feuds show that WWE is unable to find the right kinds of opponents for Ambrose. There are heels like Sheamus or Kevin Owens that he could probably feud with that would feel fresh. Other than that, there aren't that many great options for him. Now Ambrose is in a big tag match at SummerSlam with Reigns against Wyatt and Harper - two guys he has feuded with before. Why do it unless there's a reason? The heel turn is that reason.
