WWE: 7 Things Top Stars Did After Losing Big Matches

7. Bury A Guy In A Promo After The Match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ-Sayfnhvg Shawn Michaels. August 2005. He was in a heel role for about one month during his main event feud with Hulk Hogan. Michaels had been a babyface only since he returned to WWE in 2002 and other than that one month leading up to the Hogan match he remained a babyface. For the sake of the feud, Michaels did some heelish things in the build up to the match to make it more interesting. Hogan went over him clean in the SummerSlam 2005 main event. Hogan was asked to return the favor to Michaels and put him over, but he refused. Michaels humiliated him in the match by overselling everything he did and he lost clean to Hogan. After the match, Michaels went up to Hogan and said "I needed to know and I found out" before shaking his hand. Perhaps it was Michaels' way of saying he needed to know what it was like to have a match with Hogan. The next night on Raw, Michaels was still obviously bitter about it because he was ripping Hogan on the microphone. He mentioned that Hogan had flown back to Florida and suggested that only money was going to bring him back as he did a hand gesture for cash on camera. Michaels ended up going back into the babyface role rather quickly by feuding with Chris Masters, a heel on the rise, but he didn't do it in a gracious way. He did after burying Hogan as a way to get his heat back after his big loss at SummerSlam. Fans didn't care because they knew Michaels was as good as anybody in the ring, so they moved right along with him.
