WWE: 9 Wrestling Talents We Lost In 2014

5. Jimmy Del Rey

'Gigolo' Jimmy Del Ray was not a huge star in the World Wrestling Federation but he certainly had something of a cult following. He was probably best known for his performances as one half of the tag team The Heavenly Bodies along with Dr. Tom Pritchard. He replaced Stan Lane in the team when he joined Jim Cornette's Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion, following stints in Florida Championship Wrestling. They had a couple of high-profile matches as a tag team, including a fantastic effort against The Steiners at SummerSlam '93. They didn't do a great deal post-93 and were just making up the numbers. A brief spell in ECW in 1995 was promising but, ultimately, didn't lead to anything. Del Ray worked solo for WCW in 1997 as Jimmy Graffiti but his time there was cut short due to a serious knee injury, which forced the Pennsylvania native to retire. After retiring he worked for Steve Keirn's wrestling school as a trainer. After leaving that post, he worked for a flooring company. Real name Steve Ferrier, he died after crashing his truck through a lamppost and into a ditch. The Heavenly Bodies were a memorable tag team and Del Ray was an underrated worker.
