Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin is all-but-official for WWE SummerSlam 2022.

The SmackDown announcer stood atop the brand's commentary table on the latest episode and laid out his intentions to beat the crap out of Corbin on the 30 July pay-per-view. WWE hasn't made the match official quite yet, but it's expected they'll announce something soon.

McAfee vs. Corbin is happening, put it that way.

Pat's promo follows on from Happy getting in his face following yet another loss to old pal Madcap Moss on last week's episode of SmackDown. Here, Corbin didn't repeat the trick, but McAfee sold the bout as one he desperately wants.

SummerSlam will mark Pat's third match on the main roster since becoming colour commentator for the blue brand - he beat Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38, then lost to Vince McMahon in a hastily-arranged scrap moments later.

McAfee earned rave reviews for his performance that night (just as he did when wrestling Adam Cole in 2020), and there's no reason to expect anything subpar from him at SummerSlam either. The dude tends to go all out when he's called upon.
