WWE Adds New Match To Elimination Chamber 2022 On Raw
Elimination Chamber 2022's match count is officially up to 8 after Monday's WWE Raw.
WWE added Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz to Saturday's Elimination Chamber 2022 pay-per-view on Monday's episode of Raw.
Miz and Maryse worked some guest commentary during Rey/Dominik vs. Alpha Academy. During that match, the loudmouth heel shoved Dom and got into a scrap with Rey - later, once the Mysterios had lost to Chad Gable and Otis, Miz dropped Rey with a Skull Crushing Finale.
WWE went on to announce the bout for this weekend's Chamber show in Saudi Arabia. It's the first singles match between Mysterio and Miz since the 13 November 2018 edition of SmackDown. Both guys have previous in Saudi too; they worked an 11-minute semi final as part of the 'World Cup' at Crown Jewel 2018.
Previously, they'd also wrestled on the 23 October 2018 SmackDown.
The Chamber match is clearly filler though. It's the eighth match WWE has announced for the pay-per-view (sorry, "premium live event") thus far, and joins Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss as being one of the least-essential.
Mysterio vs. Miz is also likely to be a one off. The feud probably won't stretch through until WrestleMania 38.
