WWE reportedly came within a hair of splitting one of its top tag teams in the 2021 Draft.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson states that much thought was put into the idea of separating The Street Profits, who have been paired together since first teaming in NXT in March 2016. The idea would have been to send Montez Ford to Raw, where his real-life wife Bianca Belair was drafted as part of the roster reshuffle, with Angelo Dawkins staying on SmackDown.

Johnson notes that talk of the Profits being split quietened down over the week. In the end, the duo was sent from SmackDown to Raw on last night's show, switching as part of the night's 13th pick overall.

Dawkins and Ford had been on SmackDown since swapping Monday nights for Fridays in last year's WWE Draft. The duo were carrying the Raw Tag Team Titles at the time but a swap with The New Day (who held the blue brand's gold and moved in the opposite direction) saw them christened SmackDown champions, with the duo holding the belts until January 2021.

Ford and Dawkins were involved in a brief in-ring segment with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods after being drafted on last night's Raw.
