Okay, who thought that was a good idea? Raise your hand member of WWE creative! Putting Roman Reigns out in front of the hostile Chicago crowd loaded with a lengthy promo at the top of the hour was clearly a bad plan. They had to have known that going in. Was it a surprise to anyone when the crowd quickly rejected him? Reigns works best in short soundbites. Thats how he got over in The Shield. He only had to stand there, look cool and say one line. Anything more than that and it's asking for trouble. Try as he might, the man just isnt likable. A great heel he could make someday, but hes not winning anyone over and he's had plenty of chances. The idea of him main-eventing WrestleMania this year seems about as likely as John Cena and Daniel Bryan trading Bella Twins for romantic partners, or Stephanie McMahon not starring in the latest charity video. As weve seen in the past, Roman can have a bit of a short fuse when it comes to the crowd. Its kind of a wonder they dont let him have it more often. This week he was unable to ignore either the What? chants or the Boring! ones, like everyone not named John Cena does. This isnt boring. This is real life! he tried to tell us. No, its not real, and it IS boring, but nice try. Believe that Roman.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
