WWE announced their first new pay-per-view brand since 2017's Great Balls Of Fire show yesterday, with Stomping Grounds seemingly taking Backlash's old place on this year's schedule.

The show will go down in Tacoma, Washington's Tacoma Dome on 23 June. The venue's Facebook page broke the story, and tickets are set to go on sale to the general public this Friday (3 May), following a two-day presale commencing on Wednesday (1 May).

Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton is currently being advertised for Stomping Grounds, though the usual "card subject to change" disclaimer applies.

Stomping Grounds goes down 16 days after WWE's return to Saudi Arabia, which is currently set for 7 June. It seemingly takes Backlash off the schedule, which might be for the best, given that pay-per-view's recent quality levels. Rumour has it that at least three WhatCulture.com writers still have nightmares about last year's main event.

The name change also denies us the hilarity of WWE hosting a show named "Backlash" within weeks of their upcoming Saudi show. That event is yet to be confirmed by the company themselves, though it has been reported as potentially the last date on Brock Lesnar's current contract.
