WWE Announce NXT TakeOver: Chicago Set For Money In The Bank Weekend
Third NXT special of 2018 scheduled for 16 June.
NXT honcho Triple H took to Twitter earlier this afternoon to announce that the yellow and black brand will be returning to Chicago come 16 June.
The Network special is slated for Rosemont's Allstate Arena, coinciding with WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view scheduled to take place the following evening. It'll be the second time the developmental crew have been hosted in the Windy City (or at least, a few miles north-west of it), after they came to town for NXT TakeOver: Chicago on 20 May last year. That was the show which culminated in the nefarious Tommaso Ciampa turning rouge on partner Johnny Gargano, as well as featuring the sensational Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate epic for the increasingly dusty UK Championship.
TakeOver events are traditionally held in tandem with so-called 'Big Four' WWE PPVS; the fact it is being promoted alongside Money in the Bank suggests the promotion has plans to make that show - the de facto fifth biggest of the calendar - even bigger than usual. Which probably means longer. Superb.
Tickets for NXT TakeOver: Chicago go on sale 14 April.
