WWE Announces New Sub-Heading For Extreme Rules 2020

It's In Your House all over again...

WWE has handed this year's Extreme Rules pay-per-view a special sub-heading.

The 2020 version of the event will be dubbed Extreme Rules: The Horror Show, which is certainly an interesting title. WWE hasn't given the name any context yet, but it was first spotted in preview text for the Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler WWE Title match on the promotion's official website.

One theory is that 'The Horror Show' bit could have something to do with Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' character. He's surely heading for another Universal Title clash with current champ Braun Strowman, and WWE might have some sort of new cinematic spectacle up their sleeves.

It's as good a theory as any.

The other is that the company just fancied shaking things up for the long-running pay-per-view. After all, Michael Cole's annual cries of, "This is the one night a year WWE goes Extreme" have grown stale - WWE may know that too, and want to give their lead announcer something else to shout about on the night.

Extreme Rules goes down on 19 July. It'll emanate from the Performance Center, just like WrestleMania, portions of Money In The Bank and Backlash.
