WWE Are Withholding WrestleMania 2027 Date On Purpose (WWE News)

There's a tactical reason for WWE's silence on a locked in date for WrestleMania 43.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that WWE top brass has elected to go radio silent on a concrete date for WrestleMania 43 deliberately. Basically, the company just doesn't view announcing a locked in date for the Saudi Arabia supershow as a core priority in October 2026.

However, there is a chance that something will be announced at Crown Jewel on 7 November. That's the last Saudi stop before WWE returns to the country for 'Mania next spring.

This is abnormal practice from the market leader, of course. Normally, WWE/TKO shouts loudly and proudly about the date so everybody knows what's going on and exactly when it'll be happening. Not this time, it seems. Sources told WrestleVotes/Fightful that "special circumstances surrounding this event, including how ticket distribution is expected to work in the host city" has changed things there.

Further, WWE also believes that they're keeping competitors in a state of confusion by holding off on announcing a date. The longer they leave it, the harder it'll be for any other company to announce their own shows to either capitalise on the WrestleMania buzz (and influx of lapsed fans) or attempt to chew into WWE's business.

It's believed that this will have a knock-on effect to pay-per-view calendar overall, not simply across 'Mania weekend in the spring. That's rather crafty. It'd be bold of anyone, even bigger promotions, to think they can take on a proven behemoth like WrestleMania though - whether it's taking place internationally or not.

There's no word on when WWE/TKO will drop the official date.
