Now how's this for bare-faced cheek? WWE have been heavily promoting their network-mandated nostalgia fueled 'Raw Reunion' next Monday, promising the biggest homecoming in pro wrestling history. The names listed for the show read like a Hall of Fame: Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, er, The Boogeyman. There'll be more legends than an Arthurian round table.

One who definitely won't be there is Jim Ross. The commentator recently signed a contract with AEW as both an announcer and executive - but that didn't prevent WWE making an unbelievably insolent approach for the reunion.

During the 'Grilling with JR' stage show ahead of AEW's Fight for the Fallen, Ross revealed that Vince McMahon had been in touch with an invitation for next week's festivities. Interestingly, the offer wasn't immediately rejected out of hand: Ross said that his employer Tony Khan was OK with him making an appearance, but ultimately the voice of the Attitude era decided against it.

Was this a case of WWE wanting to prove there was no hard feelings between themselves and Ross - or just a way to indirectly tell people they don't consider AEW to be relevant or important?
