WWE Backlash 2020 Set For 14 June

WWE's next pay-per-view is going to be Backlash.

The promotion confirmed this during last night's Money In The Bank 2020 show, announcing that their next supercard would go down live on the WWE Network on Sunday 14 June.

Not that it really matters, but the promotion opted against announcing a location, with the ongoing global health crisis necessitating that WWE film the bulk of their content in an empty Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Backlash 2020 will likely get the same treatment, though there's every chance they'll venture elsewhere for pre-recorded cinematic content after the critical success of MITB 2020 and WrestleMania 36.

This will be the first time WWE has used the Backlash brand since 2018. Their next pay-per-view after 14 June is currently scheduled to be Extreme Rules on 19 July, then SummerSlam on 23 August, though everything is up in the air at the moment.

Extreme Rules is still set for San Jose, California and SummerSlam for Boston, Massachusetts. It seems extremely unlikely that wrestling promotions will be able to hold attended shows by then, however, so fans can likely expect both to be reconfigured closer to their air dates.
