WWE Cancels Long-Standing WrestleMania Tradition

Apologies to anybody who was looking forward to checking out THIS WWE 'Mania staple.

WWE has officially cancelled this year's WrestleMania Axxess fan fest.

PWInsider Elite is reporting that emails were sent out to those who purchased weekend travel passes for 'Mania 38 - WWE told those customers that Axxess wouldn't be happening in Dallas this April. That's bound to be a bit of a bummer for fans who enjoyed the hubbub of Axxess, as well as those who liked seeing company memorabilia and meeting their favourite wrestlers.

The 2022 version is off.

Instead, WWE will be running an "Axxess Superstore" in and around the AT&T Stadium in Texas during WrestleMania weekend. Further, fans who purchased full Axxess packages will be refunded for that portion and re-sent a revised itinerary for their 'Mania trips.

It looks like anyone hoping for a little bonus WrestleMania magic will have to settle for the "Superstore" on offer. That'll be stuffed full of all the usual merchandise WWE shifts by the truckload at this time of year, but there won't be any full on festival.

Axxess had become a bit of a 'Mania tradition for the promotion - it first debuted back in 2000 at 'Mania 16.
