WWE Champion Kofi Kingston could be set to miss ring time as a result of a recent injury.

This is according to Lords of Pain, who claim that the New Day man was set to compete at yesterday's house show in Glens Falls, New York, until the crowd were informed that Kingston wouldn't be able to wrestle as he'd been hurt.

Kofi wasn't removed from the show entirely. It sounds like he was present for Big E and Xavier Woods' victory over The B-Team in the opening bout, with the writeup claiming he "danced around with the New Day" and "tossed pancakes into the crowd," as well as hanging out to sign autographs for fans after the event.

Though he didn't wrestle last night, Kingston did compete on other live events in Utica on Saturday and Binghamton on Sunday. He is currently set to appear on tonight's episode of SmackDown in order to hype his upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view bout with Samoa Joe.

While it's currently unclear how severe Kingston's issues are, let's hope that this doesn't put the Joe match in jeopardy and that he's able to mount a swift return to the ring.
