Imagine for a second that some of Crown Jewel's major matches were taking place at WrestleMania in the United States. Then, try to picture your own pre-show excitement over Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury or Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez. Maybe that'd be better. Or maybe not.

Thursday's show is bound to be one most forget irrespective of the political backdrop. Funnily enough, this is anything but the 'Crown Jewel' of 2019's schedule.

It's a stadium show that exists to line WWE's pockets whilst giving Saudi Arabian backers the mix of legends and celebrity star power they crave, and they're welcome to it. It's as inessential as a major wrestling pay-per-view gets, of that there's no doubt, and WWE has (once again) booked itself into a corner beforehand, especially with one match.

Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' never needed to work a program for the Universal Title with Seth Rollins. The writers had several other choices he could've feuded with, but WWE did what they always do: they rushed into things head first. Now, they must pick up the pieces and plough forward in Riyadh....
