We could go into the specifics of how having a SmackDown champion jump ship to Raw just wouldn't make sense, but this isn't about the gold. It's about the man who's carrying it.

Roman Reigns has never been better. His recent return and subsequent heel turn has reinvigorated the 'Big Dog' beyond recognition. He's always been convincing in the ring, but he's never been quite so exhilarating to watch - and he's only just getting started. To move him now would be absolute lunacy.

SmackDown can't afford to lose the Universal Title right now but if the last couple of weeks have taught us anything it's that it definitely can't afford to lose the champion. Roman's new heel persona has changed the landscape significantly and with the Tribal Chief set to decimate anyone who doesn't acknowledge him, it simply wouldn't make any sense to move him to a new landscape before he's fully conquered this one.

Reigns must stay.
