Watch Elimination Chamber 2018 in isolation (without paying full attention to ongoing storylines and WWE's weekly programming) and you'd be forgiven for thinking the show was dull. The Chamber matches were slow, the other matches on the card uninspiring and Roman bloody Reigns won the main event.

WWE won't care about all that. Elimination Chamber was functional this year, and the only worry behind the scenes would have been carving a clear path towards WrestleMania 34. In that sense then, the Chamber show, warts and all, was a success.

Besides, it wasn't all doom and gloom.

There were some seriously good performances on Sunday night, and the card was laid out perfectly. No, the Chamber bouts themselves didn't need to repeat similar spots and Bray Wyatt vs. Matt Hardy was utterly useless, but think of it this way: at least 'Mania is shaping up nicely, women were a focal point again and there's more to come before April...
