An earlier point referenced The Shield doing an angle where Rollins and Ambrose turned on Reigns, but as mentioned a lot of fans don't want to see that yet. We're enjoying this babyface version of The Shield too much right now to see it end so quickly. It makes sense to keep them strong as faces. A win over Evolution would be a huge deal for The Shield. As Batista mentioned on Raw, Evolution has 31 WWE World Titles between them. The Shield has zero of those right now. For them to beat three established top guys in the main event of a PPV would be an awesome moment for them. Fans are ready to embrace them as likable guys that kick people's ass. We've booed them. Now we're ready to cheer. That's just how the wrestling business goes. The way it's been set up has been really strong with The Shield having to deal with Triple H sending out a bunch of heels to take them out. What fans like is that The Shield are being booked as babyfaces who won't stand for the behavior of the heels. They're there to kick ass. A win for The Shield is what should happen and is what is expected to end Extreme Rules, but don't count out the possibility of a surprise too.
