WWE Extreme Rules: 10 Things Overly Optimistic Fans Hope Will Happen
5. A Major Twist In the Evolution Vs. Shield Match
There's a chance that The Shield's match with Evolution could end with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins turning heel against their buddy Roman Reigns. The idea behind that move would be to have Reigns booked in the position as a breakout babyface, which is something we all expect to happen soon. He's the favorite to win the Royal Rumble and to leave WrestleMania 31 as the WWE Champion. The reason this isn't higher up on the list is because The Shield is doing such a great job as a babyface trio that a lot of fans don't want to see the turn yet. They just turned babyface in the last couple of months, so it would be great to see it last for another couple of months at least. They could do the turn at Extreme Rules simply because doing it with Evolution in the match would make the turn mean that much more. The trio of Triple H, Orton and Batista are very over as heels right now. Anybody that aligns with them in some way is going to get booed. If they wanted to keep the Evolution name going, they could have Ambrose and Rollins as the newest members of the group too. Batista's expected to take some time off after Extreme Rules, so if he's written out (maybe the others beat him up for losing) that would open the door for new Evolution members. There are a lot of possibilities about what can happen in that match. That's why there's so much anticipation for it.
