WWE Extreme Rules 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen

8. James Ellsworth Somehow Helps Carmella Win Again

Does Asuka really need to win the SmackDown Women's Title at Extreme Rules?

There will be those who believe she does, and yet the title is probably best on a deluded heel like Carmella right now. Besides, WWE have failed to come through for Asuka since the Royal Rumble. After losing her long-running winning streak to Charlotte at 'Mania (which was fine), she's been de-emphasised as an ass-kicking star.

It's James Ellsworth's job to make Asuka look like a threat to 'Mella's gold then, and he'll still be able to do that despite being locked in a cage above the ring. Somehow, some way, Ellsworth must help Carmella win so SmackDown's writers can move these women on from what has been, sadly, a rather lacklustre feud for both.

Of course, there's every chance Asuka will bag the belt then drop it back to Carmella on the next week's TV. They wouldn't do that, would they? Don't bet against it, but that shouldn't happen. It's time to move on from the feud and start rebuilding Asuka properly again elsewhere.
