WWE Extreme Rules Set For Major Six Man Tag Match?
The Shield (Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose) vs Evolution (Triple H, Orton, Batista) has been pitched as one potential main event for Extreme Rules. The source of this information, F4Wonline, adds that it will depend on who challenges Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. There's further speculation that the Shield vs Evolution match will take place inside the War Games environment. This was a WCW gimmick which had two rings inside steel cages with a roof on top. The F4Wonline discussion commented that this probably won't be the case. The idea of bringing back War Games has been mentioned several times over the years, usually being shot down by Vince McMahon. Despite this, with Triple H now driving creative and being an old school wrestling aficionado, there does seem more chance than ever that a War Games revival could happen. It would also coincide with May's latest WCW DVD release and it goes without saying that War Games by its very nature fits in with Extreme Rules. The circumstances of having the two three-man teams involved seems perfect. Arguably it could even see Bryan added to the Shield team and Kane added to the Evolution team. They both featured in the closing segment brawl with The Shield and Evolution. That's the way things stood as Raw went off the air last night anyway, seemingly suggesting it will be some kind of faction main event at Extreme Rules. The fact Hunter was screaming "this is war" could also be seen as an indication that the War Games concept is indeed being revived.
