WWE Fastlane 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right

6. That Bludgeon Bros. Destruction

The Usos vs. The New Day is a proven winner for WWE. Writers know they're going to get a slick, well-produced match, and fans know to take both teams seriously. That couldn't alter the fact that the quartet's latest chapter at Fastlane seemed a bit boring going in.

WWE obviously felt so too, and that's why they booked The Bludgeon Brothers to interfere mid-match and lay waste to everyone in sight. In doing so, they looked like absolute monsters who won't rest until they're the ones holding those SmackDown Tag Titles.

Simple storytelling is often the best storytelling.

Harper and Rowan's body-throwing, hammer-swinging approach created a memorable moment for Fastlane instead of serving up yet another Usos vs. New Day see-saw match. That was cool of creative, made the Bludgeon Bros look vicious and paved the way for a fresh tag feud.
