Armed with a steel chair and a ruthless streak nobody else had thought to bring to the Dead Man, Triple H simply pulverised him in a gut-wrenching, purposefully one-dimensional match that subverted what we knew of the Streak challenge.
Triple H didn’t bring the fight of his life; he knowingly, brilliantly entered a sort of anti-performance so callous we reacted to the pathos, regardless.
