WWE Gallery: The Revival’s 15 Most Insane Spots From 2016 To Present

Mid-air Shatter Machines, legendary tag teams tributes, and other unique tag team combos…

The old school, smash-mouth style of The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) has been compared to top tag teams of the 1980s like The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) and The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey, Randy Rose, and Norvell Austin). The Revival's adoption of the era's tag team style means that their matches are dominated by mat-based wrestling, quick tags, and combos. It also means they're generally a joy to watch.

The team’s biggest weapon is the Shatter Machine finisher, a Flapjack/Codebreaker combo. Over the years, the NXT/WWE Universe has witnessed The Revival busting out unique variations of the Shatter Machine. They include hitting their opponent with the move on the apron, from the top rope, and in mid-air. Poor Xavier Woods has had the “honor” of receiving three mid-air Shatter Machines over the past two years.

Other tag team combos used by The Revival include mixing the running/diving Bulldog with other moves like the Gory Special and Alley Oop Powerbomb. The Revival has also paid tribute to the Hart Foundation and Road Warriors by performing their version of the Hart Attack and Doomsday Device…
