WWE Hell in a Cell Preview: Will CM Punk Survive Ryback?
Main Event: WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Ryback (Hell in a Cell) And finally, the Cell descends on the main event, a test of cunning and speed versus raw power and aggression. What started as a seemingly inexplicable confrontation with Punk after the WWE Champion attacked Mick Foley has morphed into a true test of CM Punks mettle. Ryback represents the same ideal that Goldberg did once upon a time: fury, uncompromising drive, and mystery. We know next to nothing about the challenger, only that he hungers. CM Punk has been listening to lectures all month about how he can earn himself respect, and everyone who has addressed him has implored him to pursue this match, albeit with John Cena. Cena respectfully relented to Rybacks involvement in the match, creatively sticking it to the Champion by guaranteeing he gets his ass kicked as he put it during the contract signing. Now, with the matchup guaranteed for Sunday, CM Punk is stepping into a world he must take full scope of if he is to remain champion. Hell in the Cell provided a backbone for the Attitude Era, something for young upstarts like Kane and Triple H to use as a vehicle to drive their careers forward, and a place where veterans like Undertaker and Mick Foley defined theirs. If he is to retain the belt, Punks contribution will undoubtedly have to be that of a wily underdog, someone willing to do everything necessary to fend off the beast he has been caged with. Something tells me that Punk wont have a problem with that, and will find a way to finally earn respect. I hope everyone enjoys their trip to Hell! Winner: CM Punk
