WWE HOF'er Eric Bischoff Talks Overcoming Serious "Character Flaw"

WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Eric Bischoff had some soul-searching to do a few years ago.

Eric Bischoff's popular '83 Weeks' podcast has been running for around three years now. Regular listeners will know that the show's dynamic has changed; there's a much more light-hearted and fun vibe to Eric's conversations with co-host Conrad Thompson.

That's no accident.

Bischoff recently told WrestleZone's Dominic DeAngelo that he cringes when he listens back to some of the pod's earlier episodes. The soon-to-be WWE Hall Of Famer realised that he used to be very "defensive" when speaking about certain subjects, especially if he felt like he was being attacked.

Thompson was the one who, slowly but surely, got Eric to "drop his guard" and start having fun when he was reminiscing about the past. Bischoff stopped answering questions "like [he] was in a trial", and that's when he began really enjoying each podcast.

It also changed the way Bisch looked at his own history in the pro wrestling industry. He described the whole journey as a cathartic experience - now, he looks forward to getting up at 4.30am to study old WCW pay-per-views before chatting them over with Conrad.

That defensiveness used to be one of Eric's biggest character flaws. Not anymore.
