WWE Injury Update On Eva Marie & Nia Jax

One star set for an "extended period of time off" WWE TV.

Having both been taken out by Shayna Baszler on Raw in recent weeks, there's now an update on the current WWE status of both Eva Marie and Nia Jax.

As per PWInsider, Marie was backstage at Friday's SmackDown and was seen sporting a sling in order to further sell the kayfabe injury that Baszler caused on Monday after stamping on All Red Everything's elbow.

Where Jax is concerned, this same PWI report claims that the former Raw Women's Champion is expected to be absent from WWE TV for an "extended period of time".

Unlike Eva Marie, Nia wasn't in attendance for this most recent episode of SmackDown, although Talking Smack saw Jax drafted to remain on the Raw brand. There's no news on why Nia will be taking some time off from WWE programming, but the recent angle with Baszler was seemingly done as a way to write the 37-year-old off TV for the immediate future.

All of this follows other recent reports that Alexa Bliss is similarly due to be absent from WWE TV for the next several months. Of course, with the WWE Draft due to conclude on tomorrow night's Raw, there is plenty of rumours that certain NXT talents - in particular Xia Li and Dakota Kai - could be called up to freshen up the Raw and SmackDown rosters.
