The Wrestling Observer are reporting that WWE has shown "great interest" in signing New Japan Pro Wrestling star Juice Robinson and Lucha Underground's Angélico over the past few weeks.

As per Dave Meltzer, it was Robinson's appearance on the Bullet Club's Being The Elite show that caught WWE's attention, and it's understood company officials were also alerted to Juice's IWGP United States win over Jay White at NJPW's G1 Special in San Francisco show on 7 July.

This would be a second chance for Robinson in WWE. Previously, he appeared as CJ Parker in both FCW and on NXT between 2011-2015. The Observer notes that things didn't work out for him in WWE the first time, but that Juice was considered the best in Dusty Rhodes’ interview classes during his run.

Although WWE can't approach any New Japan talent under contract, Robinson is on a similar deal to the one AJ Styles was working in 2016 before leaving. That means WWE can freely negotiate without any legal issues.

Angélico, the other name linked, has been on WWE's radar ("on and off", according to the Observer) for several years now. The South African would be an excellent addition to NXT.
