WWE: Is CM Punk Working Injured?
CM Punk may be heading into Wrestlemania 29 injured if reports doing the rounds on various wrestling news sites are to be believed. PWInsider broke the news that the referee threw up the infamous 'X' sign during Punk's battle with Kane on this week's live three hour edition of Monday Night RAW. Apparently prior to attacking Kane and nabbing Paul Bearer's Urn, Punk spent a great deal of time on the floor in front of the announce table with referee Mike Chioda who repeatedly signalled to the back that an injury had occurred As this was off camera it is believed that something had actually happened and Punk was legitimately hurt. The official report from PWInsider reads as follows: "It should be mentioned that about half way through the Punk/Kane match, Chioda threw the X sign to the trainer while checking on Punk, as he laid in the floor. The trainer ran over, out of camera view, and spoke to Punk. This happened about 3 times during the rest of the match, with Chioda subtly giving the X sign to the trainer at ringside each time. Before Punk stole the urn, he spent quite a bit of time with Chioda and the trainer directly in front of the announcers table. It appears he was working with a legitimate injury."
For those of you that perhaps don't know CM Punk is in the midst of a feud with The Undertaker and following the death of 'Taker's former manager has taken things to a new level by involving Bearer posthumously in the build up, culminating in him taking the Urn and posing Undertaker style at the top of the ramp as RAW went off TV. If Punk is hurt he's not the kind of worker who will risk missing Wrestlemania and screwing up the companies plans but when a wrestler works hurt there is always the very real risk that it could impact on the quality of the match they have and after four almost perfect years in a row The Undertaker will accept nothing less than Punk's best when they go one on one at Wrestlemania 29.
