WWE Just Moved THIS Raw Wrestler To SmackDown
A big boost for SmackDown's women's division as WWE's roster reshuffling continues.
WWE has moved Naomi from the Raw roster to SmackDown, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson.
Though Naomi has retained a regular presence on Raw throughout the past couple of, she has largely drifted without direction since her tag team partner Lana was released on 2 June. Now, she is back on a brand she last competed on in August 2020.
The former Funkadactyl qualified for this year's women's Money in the Bank ladder match in June and competed at the pay-per-view on 18 July, though she was unsuccessful in a bout eventually won by Nikki A.S.H.
Naomi has previously found SmackDown to be a happy hunting ground, having previously held the brand's Women's Championship on two occasions. Her last reign kicked off with a hometown win at WrestleMania 33, where she triumphed in a Six Pack Challenge, and ran until she was dethroned by Natalya at SummerSlam 2017.
WWE has put considerable effort into restocking SmackDown's female ranks in recent weeks, with Zelina Vega, Toni Storm, Shotzi Blackheart, and Tegan Nox all joining a roster ravaged by injuries and releases. At one point in June, the brand was down to just two active heels (Carmella, Bayley) and four babyfaces (Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Natalya, Tamina).
