5. Unmasking (2003)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUX59JNqVhw For years, everyone had wondered what would be under Kane's mask. While on several occasions the audience would come close to seeing Kane's face, there had never been a clear moment where it would be obvious. In 2003, Kane finally ran out of luck; in a match that was created out of the war between RAW GMs Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff, Kane received a title match with Triple H under the provision that if he lost, he would have to unmask. Interference by Evolution led to Kane's defeat, despite teammate Rob Van Dam's attempts to save the day. As RVD tried to convince Kane he did not have to follow through on the pre-match stipulation, Kane fought with himself before slowly undoing his mask, revealing that his long hair was actually part of it. Underneath it was not the horribly burned face many had been expecting, though it was not a pretty sight either. Kane snapped, attacking Van Dam and setting off a heel turn that ultimately felt right flat by the end - but the moment when the mask finally came off was one of the most hotly anticipated moments in the WWE for years.
