WWE Legend: "Bret Hart Got What He Deserved" In Montreal

This WWE icon has zero sympathy for Bret Hart; says he's "very selfish".

Jake Roberts thinks Bret Hart "got what he deserved" back at Survivor Series 1997.

One WWE legend told another, "You didn't get screwed". Instead, Jake believes Hart showed how "selfish" he is by refusing to drop the WWF Title to Shawn Michaels before leaving for WCW. Roberts couldn't quite fathom why Hart would choose to do business that way when he was heading for the company exit doors.

In a stunning rant on his podcast, Jake added that Bret only had the belt in the first place "because some other schmuck was a good enough guy to lose to you". That "schmuck" would be The Undertaker - he dropped the title to Hart at SummerSlam '97 before the 'Montreal Screwjob' madness ensued a few months later.

Roberts has no sympathy for Bret though, and even said his refusal to do business on the night proved that Hart doesn't "give a flying f*ck about anybody else but [himself]".

No, pro wrestling circles will never stop talking about Montreal. In fact, fans should probably get ready for some more on it, because 7 November 2022 marks 25 full years since it happened.
