WWE Legend Lita Almost Signed An AEW Deal
Recent WWE comeback queen Lita nearly put pen-to-paper on an AEW contract.
Fightful Select are reporting that Lita almost put pen-to-paper on a deal with AEW.
The women's wrestling icon, who returned to WWE TV on Friday's edition of SmackDown, was reportedly in the mix for a pay-per-view match at All Out vs. Britt Baker. Build for that AEW Women's Title showdown never got started before Lita agreed to work the Royal Rumble on 29 January instead.
Tony Khan had originally reached out to Lita back in 2019, but neither party could agree terms. It appears the same thing happened again here, although Fightful did say that things ended on a positive note before both sides went their separate ways.
Basically, there's a decent chance that Lita will work some dates for All Elite at some point in the future. It'll be interesting to see if they come back to the Baker idea or not (Britt might not be champ by the time things get thrashed out, after all).
Lita smashed Charlotte Flair with a Twist Of Fate on WWE's show. She also expressed her excitement about being involved in the Rumble later this month.
