WWE Legend Shoots On Fiery Relationship With Triple H

Triple H and this ex-WWE wrestler butted heads behind the curtain more than once.

Rob Van Dam is more...understanding of Triple H's position now than he was back during his first stint in WWE between 2001-2007.

The former World Champion told the 'Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling' podcast that he "wasn't happy about the situation at the time". Specifically, Rob didn't like the influence Hunter seemed to have over his character's creative direction behind the scenes during their feud in 2002.

Today, Van Dam looks back on matches with Trips with a more positive reflection: "I had great matches with him. He’s a really good wrestler. At the time, I don’t even think I could have admitted that just because I felt more like puffing my chest out and trying to fight for every inch I could get".

In 2002, RVD viewed Triple H like most others on the roster who weren't friends with him. He was "with the boss' daughter" and that gave 'The Game' some unfair stroke. Van Dam didn't like that back in the day - he was blinded to "the whole picture" and how Trips could help him progress as a worker.

That's refreshing honesty.
