WWE 205 Live has faced an uphill battle to win fans over since debuting in November 2016. Airing straight after SmackDown, the Cruiserweight show regularly struggles to retain the blue brand's audience, and there have been rumours of dismal WWE Network viewing figures, with 205 continually falling behind NXT's pre-taped show in the weekly rankings.

The show's all-round quality has improved throughout 2017, but it still isn't generating interest. WWE recognise this, and according to this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they plan on utilising more women from the main roster to improve 205's viewership.

We recently saw this when Raw's Sasha Banks teamed with Rich Swann to feud with Noam Dar and Alicia Fox, who has been part of the show for months. The popular duo were victorious at Backlash, and the angle's perceived success could see more females follow 'The Boss' to Tuesday nights.

The company are also considering mixing some non-Cruiserweight male talent into the mix. This started with Titus O'Neil attempting to convince Akira Tozawa to join his 'Titus Brand' on this week's episode, and while the angle's outcome is unclear, it's development at least shows that WWE are conscious of 205's shortcomings.
