It looks as if WWE is on the cusp of singing up another big independent star, with “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the crosshairs of Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut.

As per the Wrestling Observer, WWE is currently looking at sorting out the Canadian’s visa issues ahead of him formally signing a contract with McMahon’s organisation.

Viewed as one of the hottest stars on the independent scene, Bailey received a five-year ban from the United States back in 2016 due to working for EVOLVE without the proper work visa papers in place. That ban expired this past March, and now WWE is looking to sign the former PWG standout and make sure that any and all visa issues are resolved.

Bailey’s time with PWG came when the promotion was absolutely on fire, and he played a major part in that, putting on bangers with the likes of Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Oney Lorcan, Drew McIntyre and the Young Bucks.

In addition to that memorable PWG stint, Speedball has also worked for the likes of WCPW, wXw, Rev Pro, CZW and OTT.
