With Wes Lee currently in the midst of holding open challenges for his NXT North American Championship, could Cedric Alexander be the next person to step up and face the former MSK man?

Taking to Twitter, Alexander noted how he's free on Tuesday nights, how he's never competed for the North American Title, and seemingly threw down the gauntlet for Wes.

As it stands, whether in WWE or elsewhere, Alexander and Lee have never wrestled one another. Both hugely talented in-ring performers, such a match-up would certainly grab the attention of many a wrestling fan.

Having signed with WWE in 2016 following the Cruiserweight Classic, Cedric largely bypassed NXT, having just three televised matches for the brand as he was immediately put on Raw as part of the cruiserweight division. For Wes Lee, he didn't arrive in WWE and NXT until 2020, and thus he and Alexander have yet to cross paths.

In terms of the North American Championship, Lee won that prize at Halloween Havoc last October, emerging victorious in a ladder match for that title after it had been vacated by Solo Sikoa. Since then, the Kardiac Kid has defend his gold against Carmelo Hayes, Tony D'Angelo, Dijak, Von Wagner, and Nathan Frazer in televised bouts, and against several other talents at NXT live events.
