WWE Money In The Bank Update - John Cena And Roman Reigns In Ladder Match
Although there's still only two matches officially confirmed for Money In The Bank.
This week's Raw provided answers regarding some of the key matches at WWE's Money in the Bank PPV on June 29th. The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is up for grabs in a ladder match with seven participants. Headed into Raw we knew that Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Cesaro and Bray Wyatt were in the match. There were two spots left. There was a battle royal for entry into the ladder match. Roman Reigns wasn't originally part of it, but he convinced Vickie Guerrero to give him a spot in the match. He got in the match (the only with a televised entrance) and of course he won it, last eliminating Rusev. John Cena wasn't allowed to participate in the battle royal because Triple H put him in a Stretcher Match against Kane. Cena ended up winning the match clean thanks to an Attitude Adjustment onto a stretcher, which really didn't look that impressive. The wins by Reigns and Cena were not surprising at all. Both men add a lot of star power to the Money in the Bank main event. There are four heels in the match with Orton, Del Rio, Wyatt and Cesaro involved. There have been rumors of a Cesaro heel turn, but for now he's a heel with Paul Heyman. The three babyfaces in the match are Sheamus, Reigns and Cena. It's weird that Kane isn't in the WWE Title match considering he was the number one contender when Daniel Bryan was champion even though Bryan already beat Kane clean at Extreme Rules. If we're supposed to believe that Kane was a top contender then why isn't he in the main event at Money in the Bank? So much for The Authority looking out for the demon. There's only one other match announced for Money in the Bank. That's the tag title match with The Usos defending against Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. That matchup has been built up well over the past couple of months. They did push towards a Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose with the two former friends brawling throughout the show. Perhaps they will add it on Smackdown or next week's Raw. You would think that WWE would announce more matches considering there's only one more episode of Raw left after this one, yet there are still only two matches official for Money in the Bank. There has been no indication that there will be a second ladder match for the Money in the Bank briefcase. At this point it's a maybe at best. We will continue to update if there are any other match announcements in the days and weeks to come.
