'King' or not, Wade Barrett is in trouble. Never was that more evident than during the Englishman's pre-show battle with the comical R-Truth at Money In The Bank. Looking like a buffoon in his "new and improved" royal attire on his walk to ringside, Barrett has fallen into the same hammy trap that Sheamus did several years ago. On that occasion, the 'King' gimmick completely stripped Sheamus of any credibility he had built up as WWE Champion and during a heated feud with Triple H, just as the monarchy schtick has taken away any of the elements which made Bad New Barrett even remotely threatening. Losing to R-Truth in the Kickoff bout hardly represents upward mobility for the King Of The Ring winner, nor does it cover the tournament itself in any real glory. WWE are going to have to act, and fast to repair the damage they've done to Barrett with the whole 'King' concept, it has made him one of the most corny, unwatchable acts on the roster, something he should never be described as.
